Tamaria
After being awarded a full scholarship from Iowa State University,
Tamaria moved from New York City with her three girls,
14 years ago. It was while she was pursuing her graduate
degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Community Development that
she heard her calling; she wanted to help women who had
been incarcerated acclimate to life after serving their prison sentence.

David
David came to ISED Ventures in 2010 looking for a fresh start.
He had recently moved to Iowa from Louisiana and through his father
heard about our services. He worked with our Workforce Navigation
services to find a job to support his new growing family.

Tami
Tami was recently divorced and looking for a way to support her children.
She knew she wanted to have a career in the health care field so went to
Mercy Hospital to talk to an advisor. Through that advisor Tami heard about
the CNA Program and was able to take classes to become a CNA and even
furthered her education beyond to support her family.

EITC Outreach program client
For the past 10 years ISED Ventures has organized the Earned Income
Tax Credit (EITC) Outreach program. It provides mid to low income families
with free tax preparation services. This program has helped aid many
clients over the years and in 2012 helped one father who was afraid of
losing his children because he had fallen behind on filing his taxes.
